Vauxhall High-Fives Buyers With All New Cashback Deal

" New car buyers to get 5% cashback on balance financed
" 0% interest on finance remains as before
" Offer available on two, three and four year finance packages

Consumers seem to be in a no-win situation in today's chaotic economy: if we borrow money, interest is punitive, yet if we have cash to invest the rates we're sold are derisory.

But from today, Vauxhall is offering new car buyers a fresh and innovative solution to both these woes with its new 'You Pay, We Pay' deal, giving customers a wholesome five-per cent cashback on new models purchased with its already generous zero-per cent finance schemes.

'You Pay, We Pay' means that buyers of most new Astras, Zafiras, Merivas and Tigras can walk into their nearest Vauxhall dealership, choose either a two, three or four-year nought-per cent interest package through GMAC and receive a big fat cheque equivalent to five-per cent of the sum financed when they take delivery of their new car.

Better still, buyers who are keen to part with none of their hard-earned cash up front can do so, since no deposit is required on the interest-free two year deal.
And even for those buyers who'd like to spread the cost over three or four years, only 10 or 30 per cent deposits respectively are required.

"In a new car market flooded with the same old deals, 'You Pay, We Pay' is a genuinely fresh approach," said Andy Dunstan, Vauxhall's Retail Sales Director.
"With many new car buyers unsure of what the future holds, we felt that Vauxhall needed to raise the bar in the market and offer something extra. The beauty of the deal is not only its simplicity, but the fact that it genuinely puts money back in the pockets of hard-hit consumers."

Of course, buyers can choose to spend the money how they wish, but for canny investors there's never been a better deal. Compared with buying a car with cash - or worse still with a deal that attracts interest - 'You Pay, We Pay' means buyers keep their money in the bank to earn interest, along with a five-per cent cashback payment, which in itself would earn three-per cent interest at today's average rates.

"Liquidity, a healthy cash-flow and getting the best deals are buyers' key priorities in today's climate," said Mr. Dunstan. "'You Pay, We Pay' addresses these concerns and gets them into great value, award winning cars at the same time."

Call into Platinum Vauxhall today for your "'You Pay, We Pay' offer.

Head Off MOT Test Hassles In 2009 With GM Insurance

More than 320,000 owners of Vauxhall, SAAB cars needing a first MOT Test in 2009 can take the uncertainty out of this sometimes fraught experience and protect their investment with a special insurance scheme.

For an annual peace of mind premium of just £75, the scheme covers you against the cost of repair and replacement of an extensive range of parts that fall within the scope of the annual safety and roadworthiness test.

This extends to more than 20 key areas, including lighting, steering and suspension, brakes, fuel system, mirrors and seatbelts, should your car or car-derived van fail its MOT. The annual premium covers repairs up to a total value of £750.

MOT Test Insurance is available for most Vauxhall cars and all car-derived vans, plus Saab and Chevrolet* cars up to eight years old having covered less than 80,000 miles, provided that there is at least six months until your vehicle’s first or next MOT is due and that your car has an up-to-date service history in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.

And if you decide to sell your vehicle privately before its next test, the policy can be transferred to the new owner.

The policy is available at participating Platinum Vauxhall dealerships plus participating Saab service departments.

* MOT Test Insurance is also available to owners of cars up to eight years old.

Vauxhall Tops UK's Car Registrations Chart In December

Vauxhall took the lion’s share of the UK’s passenger car market last month, with a total of 19,058 registrations – a mere 5.93 per cent down from the same period in 2007, despite the UK’s sharp economic decline.

According to official figures produced by the SMMT today, UK car registrations were down by 21.22 per cent, year-on-year in December, so Vauxhall’s marginal drop illustrated the strength of its current product ranges and competitive pricing strategies.

Not even Vauxhall’s new, European Car of the Year-winning Insignia could be held responsible for the Luton company’s strong performance: with dealers launching the car in January, just 307 were registered before the New Year.

Bolstering these figures was the news that Vauxhall also led the way in Scotland, registering more cars during the whole of 2008 than any other manufacturer, with the Corsa coming in as the best-selling model of the year.

Andy Gilson, Vauxhall’s Marketing Director, was encouraged by the SMMT’s figures: “We’re delighted to be at the top of the UK’s registration league once again, and also buoyed by the Corsa’s strong performance in Scotland, as well as the rest of the UK. We now look forward to welcoming customers into our dealerships to test the new, award-winning Insignia.”

During December, Vauxhall had a total of four models in the UK’s top ten registration chart: the Corsa, Astra, Vectra and Zafira.

Corsavan - Small Van Of The Year 2008

" Prestigious award for Corsavan
" Rated best small van by leading LCV title What Van?
" Handling, styling and running costs praised

Small vans with low running costs have never been more popular - and according to leading light commercial vehicle magazine What Van?, the Vauxhall Corsavan is the best of the lot.

The prestigious publication awarded Corsavan the title of 'Small Van of the Year 2008' - the second year in succession that it has taken the accolade - citing its road manners, fuel economy and modern, streamlined styling as the key features that made it more attractive than rivals.

What Van? Editor Neil McIntee said that Corsavan's car-derived origins gave it extra appeal in a heavily competitive sector.

"On the face of it the latest breed of small vans ought to spell the end for commercials based on hatchback cars," he said, "but from the viewpoint of status-conscious customers Corsavan is a far more acceptable sight on the typical suburban driveway.

"What's more, Corsavan comes with all of the virtues of the car on which it is based. As a consequence, it comfortably outclasses similar products so far as driveability is concerned."

Corsavan's popularity is reflected in its sales figures - by the end of November, Vauxhall had sold 2,253 Corsavan's in 2008, 169 more than in the whole of 2007.

"The small van market is growing more and more important as businesses look to keep their costs under control," said Steve Bryant, Vauxhall Commercial Vehicle Brand Manager. "The fact that Corsavan shares so much with the multi-award winning Corsa car means we have a van that offers class-leading levels of quality, dynamics and roadside appeal, all of which are increasingly important to commercial vehicle customers."

Vauxhall sold over 53,000 vans in the UK in 2007, and is Britain's biggest manufacturer of light commercial vehicles. By the end of 2008, the company will have constructed over 100,000 vans in the UK at plants in Luton, Bedfordshire and Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.
